Nikita Burdein joins us for our first-ever studio episode to talk about “Let the Sunshine In” from Hair! Nikita is an all-star musical improviser here in New York and was very patient while Evan & Pat showed how naive they were regarding musical theatre. In this episode, we talk about crate digging for cast recordings and what makes for a good musical! Pat had just discovered how great Hamilton is, so we go pretty in depth with that, and Evan admits that he still hasn’t listened to the soundtrack.
Nikita can be found teaching and performing both musical and “regular” improv at the Magnet Theater and UCBeast.
Thank you to the Magnet Training Center for the recording space!
Episode Note: Pat would like to clarify he did not see Sara Bareilles as the pianist in Waitress. He was a dumb dumb and didn’t read the Playbill!
