The unbelievably charming and hilarious Addie Weyrich (Crashing, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), joins Evan and Pat to snack and talk about the song “Only God Knows” by Young Fathers, and how it creates action
This season of Repeater we’re talking to guests about songs that got them through 2018, so we opened up this episode with a little recap of the year. We explored the energized midterm elections, the Facebook analytics leaks, targeted ads, and Amazon Headquarters (before they changed their minds about NYC).
Addie talks about hearing “Only God Knows” off of the Black Panther Playlist, for the first time at midnight, and choosing to walk home in the freezing cold with the song on repeat. We discuss the song’s vibes vs its lyrics, Addies’s love of any song with a choir, and how the energy of the song, both positive and melancholic, helped Addie to overcome and take on a year in which she learned to be her own friend.
Addie and the hosts also talk about the new Maggie Rogers album, and everything Lizzo, specifically, Juice.
And finally, Evan, Pat, and Addie read some reviews of the podcast. Leave us a 5-star review and we’ll read yours too!
